Cherubs

Cherubs are "fresh meat": Angels in basic training.
This section is about and for cherubs!

We require that cherubs attend a minimum of 6 sessions to build up their basic skating and safety skills.
You will be required to bring or loan skates, pads and helmet, and to sign a waiver form. You will need to give contact details, an emergency contact name/ number and details of any injuries or medical conditions you have.
Basic skating and safety includes:

  • able to skate around the track working with or aiming for "normal skating motion"
  • falls on the left and right knee
  • falling "small": tucking in the arms, legs and head on all fours
  • able to skate in a pace line and to weave in and out of other skaters
  • some practice skating in a pack of skaters

After this time, cherubs continue to attend Thursday sessions to build up their minimum skills. You will be invited to attend social and fundraiser events.

In the future, cherubs will graduate to angels upon passing minimum skills. At present, this process is fluid and likely to be considered on a case-by-case basis by the coach, NSOs and training committee. The safety of all skaters is our main concern. We want to consider everyone as part of our team and get to know new members.
